Living in the heart of Kildare means I have very good access to the main road arteries, great if I need to get to the west or south of the country for weddings. However even better for me is the fact I live in an area surrounded by some of the countries best wedding venues. Rathsallagh House is only a few minutes drive from me so it’s always good to be heading back there. Its easy to see why it has become one of Irelands favorite country house wedding venues, the house and accommodation are absolutely beautiful. The private walled garden with it’s lawns, trees and orchard are just stunning, the forest area, full of bluebells and daffodils every spring is the perfect backdrops to your wedding photos.
Shona & Niall got in touch after I photographed one of their friend’s wedding a few years back. They were lucky enough to get the perfect spring weather which was warmer than usual along with clear blue skys. Shona decided to get ready at the family farm house. Have a look at that room that is her mothers pride and joy, you don’t see many rooms like that in farm houses, it was more like something you’d see in a palace.
Shona and Niall’s brief to me before the wedding was just to capture some natural looking images, mostly candid. Great! as that is what I do. We went for a quick walk around the forest and walled garden and captured some amazing images of them enjoying the first few minutes of married life.
