Julianne & Killian’s Marco Pierre White Wedding | Dublin City

Some weddings you walk away from thinking — yes, that’s exactly what a wedding should be. Julianne and Killian’s day in Dublin was one of those. A church ceremony with a genuinely unexpected twist, a reception at one of the most sought-after wedding venues in the city, and an entrance that had every single person in the room on their feet before the night had even started. I’ll get to that.

Getting Ready — Two Houses, One Morning

The morning started at Killian’s home with the lads — groomsmen in various states of readiness, ties being straightened, good-natured slagging being exchanged at volume. I’ve photographed a lot of groom preparations and the dynamic is usually the same: relaxed on the surface, quietly buzzing underneath. These fellas were no different. About twenty minutes was all it took — just enough time to capture the bond between them and the quiet excitement of what was coming.

From there it was over to Julianne’s mother’s house, where the atmosphere was completely different and completely wonderful. Joy, laughter, a few tears — the full spectrum. Julianne was surrounded by her bridesmaids and the women who matter most to her, and the morning had that warm, unhurried energy that tells you everyone is exactly where they want to be.

Church of the Three Patrons, Rathgar — Walking Down the Aisle Together

The ceremony was held at the Church of the Three Patrons on Rathgar Road — a stunning church with architecture that makes every photographer quietly grateful. High ceilings, beautiful light, the kind of space that makes even a small wedding feel genuinely grand.

But the moment that stopped me in my tracks was this: Julianne and Killian walked down the aisle together. Both of them. Side by side. It’s a choice that more couples are making and every single time I see it, it hits differently. There’s something so powerful about two people walking into their wedding ceremony as equals, already together, already there. The entire church felt it. I felt it.

Marco Pierre White Courtyard Bar & Grill — The Best Entrance I’ve Ever Seen

After the ceremony it was a short journey into the heart of Dublin city to Marco Pierre White Courtyard Bar & Grill — one of the most popular and genuinely brilliant wedding venues in Dublin. The energy in the room was already building when the doors opened.

And then came the entrance.

Natalia on the saxophone played Julianne and Killian into the room — and I mean played. Not background music, not a gentle serenade. A full, vibrant, electrifying performance that had guests on their feet before the couple had even made it through the door. In fifteen years of photographing weddings, it is one of the best entrances I have ever witnessed. The room absolutely erupted.

From that moment the night had its own momentum. Music, dancing, laughter — the kind of reception where you look up and two hours have passed and nobody has sat down once.

A Dublin Wedding Done Right

Julianne and Killian’s day was a reminder of what happens when a couple puts their own stamp on every decision — from walking the aisle together to the saxophone entrance that nobody saw coming. Marco Pierre White Courtyard Bar & Grill is a brilliant venue precisely because it suits couples like this: confident, fun, and not remotely interested in doing things the conventional way.

It was an absolute privilege to be there for all of it.
