Jessica & Colin’s Rathsallagh House Wedding, Co. Wicklow

Jessica and Colin’s wedding at Rathsallagh House was one of those days where every decision made by the couple reflected exactly who they are — warm, thoughtful, and completely focused on enjoying every moment with the people they love.

Rathsallagh House sits in the heart of Co. Wicklow, just outside Dunlavin, and it’s one of my favourite wedding venues in Ireland. The grounds are stunning, the staff are brilliant, and it photographs beautifully in every season.

Getting Ready at Rathsallagh

The morning started with the entire bridal party getting ready on-site — one of the great advantages of Rathsallagh House as a wedding venue. Everyone was together, relaxed, and genuinely excited. Jessica’s bridal look included intricate henna designs on her hands — a personal and meaningful detail that made for some really beautiful close-up photographs.

First Look & Pre-Ceremony Photography

One of the smartest decisions Jessica and Colin made was to complete all their couple portraits before the ceremony. This is something I always recommend to couples, and it completely transforms the flow of the day. Once the ceremony was done, they were free — no disappearing for an hour of photos, just straight into the drinks reception with their guests.

Walled Garden Ceremony at Rathsallagh House

The ceremony was held in Rathsallagh’s walled garden — easily one of the most beautiful outdoor ceremony spaces in Wicklow. The high stone walls, lush greenery, and natural light make it an exceptional setting for exchanging vows. The emotion in the air was palpable, and it’s a space that always delivers incredible photographs.

Drinks Reception & Celebration

After the ceremony, the walled garden transformed seamlessly into the drinks reception space. Laughter, clinking glasses, and genuine happiness — exactly what every wedding should feel like. Jessica and Colin’s relaxed approach meant everyone was at ease, and those are always the best conditions for natural, candid photography.

Their day at Rathsallagh House was a perfect reminder of what wedding photography is really about — documenting real moments between real people. Jessica and Colin, thank you for having me along.
