Caroline & Tony’s Wedding at Boyne Hill House | Co. Meath
Some couples arrive at their wedding day wound tight with nerves. Caroline and Tony were not those people. From the first look right through to the last dance, these two were completely relaxed — the kind of easy, unforced calm that makes a day genuinely enjoyable for everyone in the room, photographer included.
Their June 2024 wedding at Boyne Hill House in Co. Meath was exactly that kind of day. Warm weather, good people, and a group of Scottish lads in kilts who we will absolutely be returning to.
The First Look — A Proper Tearjerker
Before the ceremony, Caroline and Tony had a first look — a private moment together before the day properly began. And I’ll be honest: not every first look lands the same way. Some are lovely, some are sweet, some are over in thirty seconds.
This one stopped me in my tracks.
It was a genuine, unguarded moment between two people who were clearly completely mad about each other, and the emotion it brought out was real. One of those frames you know immediately is going to matter for a very long time.
Church of the Immaculate Conception, Rathfeigh
From Boyne Hill House the wedding party made their way to the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Rathfeigh for the ceremony — a beautiful church that suited the warmth and personality of the day perfectly. Caroline and Tony’s relaxed energy carried right through the vows. No stiffness, no nerves. Just two people completely comfortable with where they were and who they were with.
The Kilts
Let’s talk about the kilts.
Tony’s groomsmen had come over from Scotland for the week, and they came dressed accordingly. A group of lads in full highland dress at an Irish country house wedding on a warm June afternoon is — I can confirm — a very good look. They committed fully, they wore them brilliantly, and they added a detail to the day that nobody who was there is likely to forget in a hurry.
Drinks Reception in the Sunshine at Boyne Hill House
After the ceremony, everyone spilled outside into the warmth for the drinks reception on the grounds of Boyne Hill House — and in June 2024, the weather absolutely delivered. Guests in the sunshine, glasses in hand, the grounds looking their absolute best. Boyne Hill House is a beautiful venue at any time of year, but on a warm summer afternoon with a crowd this relaxed and happy, it was something else.
